A pet food processing plant can produce various types of pet food. Here, we will take the production of kibble food such as cat food and dog food as an example to introduce you to the main process of a complete pet food processing production line. This is a highly automated production process. Our production line design is highly customizable and can be adjusted according to actual conditions to make the production line highly efficient.

Pretreatment involves storage, impurity removal, crushing, and drying. Various materials are stored in corresponding silos. The impurity removal process screens out potential metals, stones, threads, and other debris from the raw materials to ensure food hygiene, quality, and equipment safety. Subsequently, the materials are crushed to the appropriate size and dried to optimal moisture content, ready for distribution in different formulations.

Based on the specific proportions required for different formulations, various raw materials are accurately distributed according to set ratios to ensure that each batch of pet food meets predetermined standards.

After precise ingredient distribution, the raw materials are uniformly mixed in a mixer. This process directly affects product quality and the stability of nutritional components, forming the foundation for ensuring pet food quality.

The fully mixed materials are fed into a pellet mill. After conditioning in a conditioner, the materials are matured and gelatinized. Then, they enter the pelleting chamber, where they are extruded by ring dies and pressure rollers to form pellets of the required size.

Drying and sterilization are used to extend the shelf life of products and ensure food safety. It ensures that the finished product is not contaminated by bacteria, mold, or other microorganisms during storage and transportation, while also preventing food spoilage due to excessive moisture.

Surface coating is mainly used to improve food quality, taste, and appeal, enhance flavor and aroma, and supplement nutritional components. Examples include oils, vitamins, mineral solutions, flavorings, antioxidants, and palatability enhancers.

Cooling lowers the product’s temperature, ensuring that the product reaches room temperature or a suitable temperature during packaging. Excessive temperature can cause condensation, spoilage, or affect the product’s taste. The finished product is then packaged into appropriate sizes using an automatic packaging scale.
