HUSK PELLET MACHINE
Husk pellet machine is designed specifically for lightweight husk raw materials with high lignin and low viscosity, such as rice husks, sunflower seed shells, peanut shells, and palm shells. They address key issues such as difficulty in forming shell raw materials, easy rebound, low density, and easy wear on equipment. They can be widely used in the production of biomass pellet fuel.

Applicable Scenarios
Shell raw materials have a loose structure, coarse and hard fibers, and high content of natural oils or silicon, placing extremely high demands on the wear resistance and compression ratio of pelleting equipment. Our shell pellet mill adopts a heavy-duty design concept, uses highly wear-resistant materials, and is specifically designed for high-wear environments, enabling it to process various shell raw materials more efficiently, such as rice husk pellet mills for processing rice husk-related materials.
Our husk pellet machine can be widely used in biomass fuel processing plants, industrial boiler heating systems, biomass power plants, agricultural waste resource utilization projects, and export-oriented new energy pellet production enterprises. They can meet the pelleting needs of various raw materials and production scales, and can provide complete production line solutions.

BASIC PROCESS OF HUSK PELLET PRODUCTION LINE
A complete pelleting production line needs to have processes such as cleaning, crushing, drying, pelleting, cooling and screening, and finished product packaging. These steps cover raw material processing to finished pellet packaging, and it is a highly automated production line process.

1
Cleaning:
The purpose of the raw material cleaning stage is to remove impurities from the raw materials, mainly metal impurities, to ensure equipment safety and the quality of the finished granules.
2
Crushing:
Raw material crushing is a necessary step in pelleting. Various raw materials need to be crushed to a size of about 3mm so that they can produce good pellets when compressed in the pellet mill.
3
Drying:
Under normal circumstances, the moisture content of the material needs to be controlled between 13% and 18% to achieve good granulation results and prevent spoilage and mold growth during subsequent storage, which would affect its use.
4
Pelletizing:
This is the key link in the entire pelleting production line. The pre-treated material is sent into the pelleting chamber of the pellet mill, where qualified pellet products are produced under the action of the ring die and pressure rollers.
5
Cooling and Sieving:
The freshly formed granules have a high temperature, about 80°C, and need to be cooled and shaped in time to increase hardness and wear resistance. At the same time, a very small amount of unformed or substandard loose material is removed and returned to the production line for re-granulation.
6
Packaging:
After a series of processing steps, the finished granules can be packaged directly according to certain specifications, completing the final step of the entire production line.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
To help you gain a more comprehensive understanding of shell pellet mills, we have compiled the following frequently asked questions. If you have more specific project needs or technical inquiries, please feel free to contact our professional team. We will provide you with tailored solutions and support.
Are shell materials prone to causing wear and tear on equipment?
+
Yes. Shell materials (such as rice husks, peanut shells, palm shells, etc.) typically contain high levels of silica or hard fibers, resulting in significant wear on the ring die and pressure rollers. To address this issue, we use high-wear-resistant alloy materials for the ring die and reinforced pressure roller structure, and improve surface hardness and fatigue strength through optimized heat treatment processes. Simultaneously, we optimize the die compression ratio and stress distribution to effectively reduce abnormal wear and cracking risks, extend the service life of key components, and reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
What is the ideal moisture content for shell pelleting?
+
The ideal moisture content for shell raw materials is typically controlled between 13% and 18%. Excessive moisture can easily lead to mold blockage, rough pellet surfaces, and even unstable pelleting; insufficient moisture will affect the plasticizing effect, resulting in loose pellets or increased pulverization. We can configure a drying or conditioning system based on your raw material’s specific conditions to help achieve precise moisture control, thereby ensuring stable output and good finished product quality.
What is the calorific value of shell pellets?
+
The calorific value of shell fuel pellets typically ranges from 3500 to 4500 kcal/kg, depending on the type and purity of the raw material. For example, palm shell pellets generally have a higher calorific value, while rice husk pellets have a relatively higher ash content. By optimizing the selection and mixing ratio of raw materials, the combustion efficiency and stability of the pellets can be further improved, meeting the requirements for use in industrial boilers, biomass power generation, and export markets.
Can it be exported to EU standards?
+
Yes. We can customize production line configurations according to relevant European biomass fuel standards (such as ENplus), including pellet density control, powder content control, moisture content detection, and automated packaging systems. We can also add cooling, screening, and dust removal systems to ensure that the finished pellets have a uniform appearance, high strength, and low impurities, meeting the international market’s quality requirements for biomass fuel pellets.
Do you provide complete plant solutions?
+
Yes. We offer a one-stop service from project consultation, solution design, equipment manufacturing to installation and commissioning. We can also provide complete automated production line solutions based on the customer’s capacity planning, including raw material processing, drying, granulation, cooling, screening, packaging, and electrical control systems.
